| Hey friends. I recently posted some new short comic pieces I'm working on...then I took them off. So, sorry if you're looking for them here. I am probably done with xanga. Will likely migrate to blogspot. Still figuring it out. Will keep you posted if you're interested. | | |
| Hello Friends. I have neglected my xanga recently.
I tried to go to bed early tonight...just after 10:00 PM. But my neighbors decided to have a fight. So I have relocated to the living room until they cool down. I was wishing that I had a microphone as we need audio of a couple fighting for an SL video. But this conversation would have to be heavily edited.
There was this girl I was interested in recently. Today she told me that she decided to get back with her ex. Well, what can you do? Please: no one respond with how God has chosen the perfect girl for me and how she will arrive in God's timing.
It sounds like things have settled down next door. I pray that I will not have to endure the sounds of make-up amour. Well, it never lasts long anyway.
| | Currently Watching Cinema Paradiso (Two-Disc Deluxe Edition) By Antonella Attili, Enzo Cannavale, Isa Danieli, Leo Gullotta, Marco Leonardi, Pupella Maggio, Agnese Nano, Leopoldo Trieste, Salvatore Cascio, Tano Cimarosa, Nicola Di Pinto, Roberta Lena, Nino Terzo, Jacques Perrin, Philippe Noiret, Brigitte Fossey, Nellina Lagan?, Turi Giuffrida, Mariella Lo Giudice, Giorgio Libassi see related | Well, it's Valentine's Day. How did I spend it? I had two invitations to hang out with friends. My friend Kyle invited me over to watch "The Departed." I told him we would have to do it another time, as I was going out to catch a show. One of the guys in "Picasso" is also in a band and invited us all to come hear him play. I thought I would, but once I got home, it was so cold, and so nice to have a night to myself, that I decided to stay home.
I watched a movie that I got for Christmas. My mother and sister bought me "Cinema Paradiso," one of my favorite movies, and one I've seen many times. Like many films, this included a "director's cut," which usually means that it contains a few scenes that got cut out. This director's cut, however, contained a full 51 minutes that was cut out of the theatrical release. These 51 minutes change the entire film.
In the theatrical version, a very important story line is left unresolved. Like many others who have seen and loved this film, I have imagined what might have happened. And here, lo and behold, the question is answered. To think that it had been answered from the beginning, and was just sitting there on a shelf all these years! It was a singular movie watching experience. I cried and cried. What a movie nerd.
And what did YOU do on Valentine's Day?
Lastly: many of you know that Santi and I are in this play, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile." It opens Tuesday, February 20th. The tickets are a staggering 30.00 apiece, which is more than I would pay to see community theatre. However, there is a rumored invited dress on Monday, February 19th. This final dress would be free. If you'd like to see the show, please check back with me to see if this invited dress is really on.
| | Currently Watching Pandora's Box - Criterion Collection By Georg Wilhelm Pabst, Hugh Munro Neely, Louise Brooks, Fritz Kortner, Francis Lederer, Carl Goetz, Krafft-Raschig, Alice Roberts, Gustav Diessl, Daisy D'Ora, Sig Arno, Michael von Newlinsky, Shirley MacLaine, Dana Delany, Roddy McDowall, Alban Berg, Looking for Lulu Opera see related | So instead of catching the SL tour (sorry..."Clarity") this weekend, I am at home sick.
The doctor said I have an "unknown virus." Not comforting words. He gave me a steriod shot and a pat on the back. I will spare you the details of this virus, but it ain't pretty.
I have been watching a lot of movies. Nothing new for me. Watching a silent film just now..."Die Buchse Der Pandora"...or, "Pandora's Box." Not a great film but a beautiful lead actress, Louise Brooks. This movie is almost as good as "National Treasure!"
So is this Xanga thing dead or what? Everyone has either a myspace or a facebook. Well, I have a myspace, and it's just plain gross. I have not made the move to facebook yet, but it seems a lot like myspace, and frankly, I don't get it. Xanga at least seems content focused. These other sites seem to have mastered the art of communicating without saying anything. Maybe I'm just too old.
Rehearsals going semi-well with "Picasso." We'll see. Must make an effort to spend more time with friends. In person, I mean. No other news.
